Twitter Status
With the new lists feature in twitter, they almost got it right. Lists are just another identity on twitter - has followers and follows people. What I'd like to see in Twitter is a list status - one entry for each list member, showing their latest status. Hmmm, maybe I'll write a quick client to do this...

Adobe's Impact If your like me, you've given up on watching those "Amazing" You Tube videos. The latest is of a basketball shot made by hitting the ball with a baseball bat from 60 yards away. I can't watch without thinking the video was doctored. Adobe, you've made it too easy. I feel bad for those who really do have amazing talent.

Blogger Images Blogger, which I use for The Schmitzer's Comment, has some really horribly implemented features, including image insertion. Here are the issues I know about:
  • Uploading from a URL does not seem to work, must download then upload.
  • Inserts at top of post, instead of where the cursor is.
  • Has small/medium/large setting, which does nothing.
  • When you are done, you have no idea if the image will be cropped in your template.
Get it together already!

Linked In Recommendations Seeing a lot of people recommending each other. This defeats the purpose. Also, don't ask for recommendations, and don't give them to people who ask for them. This cheapens the whole thing. I've currently got zero recommendations, but I've earned every one of them!

Rams Win Ok, they won. The next level of greatness will be achieved when they are actually favored to win a game. That may take a bit longer. My research shows the last time they were favored was Dec 2, 2007 against Atlanta. They were favored by 4.5 and won by 12.

Twitter Lists
I organized my Twitter contacts into lists. My largest list was "dontknow". Now going through that list and figuring out who these people are. Following a lot less of them now. Was this the goal of lists?

iPhone Envy
Coming down with a serious case of it, especially after seeing them all at Strange Loop. This is not a fad, the game has changed. Those who have it, will never do without anymore. Those who don't, want it.

Processor Architecture
Will we ever see a new server processor architecture? The x86 started in 1978. Nobody has been able to come up with something better. Not even Intel, who failed with their Itanium processor, can replace the x86. Zero innovation there.

NHIN CONNECT
I'll be attending the NHIN CONNECT Code-A-Thon in November. This is an open-source project to help build the National Health Information Network. I know there are lots of developers who are between jobs now. If you have Java or Web Service experience, (especially Netbeans or GlassfishESB) experience, consider contributing to the project. The community is building and you could have a great impact, and maybe even find your next employer through it.

Rare NFL Play
Sundays Rams win, while ending an amazing 17 game losing streak, was really unique in that it featured a play most have never seen in the NFL. It was an offensive safety. That's what happens when a defensive player intercepts the ball, runs into his own end zone (on purpose) and is tackled by an offensive player. Has this ever happened in the NFL before?

An All-Time Low for the Rams

I know this is a technical Blog, but this is too incredible to pass up.

The St. Louis Rams have a terrible team, and their once-powerful offense has now turned inept. How bad? There used to be promotions at local gas stations with names like, Rams Win, You Score.

Check out what I found yesterday:

What's next, Rams get a first, down, you get free gas?

Remember this when people talk about you. Everything someone says about you reveals something they think about you.
